In a successful week for the medical technology companies in the LSI Alumni community, we saw LSI Alumni receive new funding, achieve regulatory approvals, appoint new executives, receive awards, and much more on the road to LSI Europe ‘26 in Barcelona (September 28 - October 1).
Closed a $56M financing led by Omega Funds, with participation from new investor Spain’s Co-investment Fund (FOCO), managed by COFIDES, alongside Asabys Partners, Ysios Capital, CDTI Innovación, and other investors. The funding will support product development and clinical work, including completion of the ATHENA pivotal IDE study evaluating the ANA Funnel Catheter, while advancing its Funnel Catheter platform designed to improve clot capture, reduce embolic complications, and maximize brain reperfusion.
Received FDA 510(k) clearance for over-the-counter use of Biolinq Shine™, the company’s needle-free glucose sensor designed to provide a simple, intuitive view of glucose, activity, and sleep information in a single device with autonomous operation. The forearm-worn device features an integrated primary display that operates with or without a phone and uses a color-coded LED to communicate real-time glucose changes.
Appointed LSI Alumni Raymond W. Cohen. Cohen, an accredited public company director and accomplished medical technology executive, has over four decades of medtech industry experience, including being the co-founder and CEO of Axonics.
Received FDA Approval for its SELUTION SLR™ Drug-Eluting Balloon (DEB) to treat coronary in-stent restenosis (ISR). SELUTION SLR DEB gives physicians a way to treat ISR by delivering sustained sirolimus therapy without leaving a permanent implant behind.
Raised a €15M Series A round led by XGEN Venture, with the participation of CDP Venture Capital (Rilancio Fund). The financing will fund the clinical validation of Dialybrid’s Silkothane® Arteriovenous Graft as a hemodialysis vascular access and the preclinical development of the proprietary Silkothane® material in other vascular applications.
Selected by the FDA to participate in the READI-Home Innovation Challenge. The company's REMI™ Neuro Monitoring Home Health Hub is a wireless wearable EEG system designed for extended-duration monitoring in home and ambulatory settings, with the goal of supporting care after hospital discharge and reducing avoidable readmissions.
Announced the first close of its Series B financing round, co-led by Asahi Kasei Medical and Rapha Capital Management, advancing toward its $20M financing target. The funding will support expansion of the company’s commercial footprint and development of the next-generation FIZE Optima platform toward predictive, AI-guided clinical decision support.
Received FDA clearance of its expanded GT Linear Magnet platform and indication to include the company’s new 60mm and 70mm Magnets for side-to-side gastroileostomy and gastrojejunostomy. Successfully completed an €80M financing round co-led by Andera Partners, Sofinnova Partners, Supernova Invest, and Mérieux Equity Partners, with participation from new and existing investors. The funding will accelerate the company's commercial expansion across Europe and advance its U.S. clinical development program.

The company’s Symani system combines the world's smallest wristed microinstruments with motion scaling and tremor reduction to enable microsurgery and supermicrosurgery on structures as small as 0.1mm.
Received €10.4M in financing led by New Science Ventures, with participation from existing investors FundPlus, Wallonie Entreprendre, VIVES Partners, ORSA, Sambrinvest, Noshaq, and invest.bw. The funds will be used to advance its lead program, NVD003, an autologous cell-based therapy, through the final stage of clinical development and preparation for regulatory submission.
Recognized by the European Investment Bank (EIB) with the Innovation Champion Award. The company’s lead product, EASEE®, is a targeted, reversible neurostimulation therapy for people with drug-resistant focal epilepsy.

Launched a commercial partnership with BOLD MedTech France to support the deployment of the Histolog Scanner and Histolog Remote across leading French hospitals and private clinics. Stéphane Perales of BOLD MedTech France will focus on accelerating clinical adoption, strengthening relationships with surgical and pathology teams, and expanding our footprint in intraoperative tissue imaging.
Closed its Series A funding round, led by .406 Ventures, with continued backing from Emerson Collective, Forerunner, Serena Ventures, Metrodora Ventures, and existing partners. The company is developing the Teal Wand, the first and most accurate FDA-authorized at-home HPV self-collection device, aiming to help more women get screened for cervical cancer by eliminating the barriers that kept women from prioritizing their care.
Appointed Rick McDowell as Vice President, Sales. McDowell brings more than 20 years of experience in medical device commercialization, clinical strategy, and capital sales, with a career spent building and leading high-performing sales, clinical, and marketing teams across the surgical robotics industry.
Raised a $24M Series B2 financing round, led by Alive HealthTech Growth Fund, with participation from Deep Insight, Star51 Capital, Connecticut Innovations, eHealth Ventures, Mayo Clinic Ventures, NYU, and Iron Nation. The financing will support the company’s continued commercial expansion in the U.S. and the development of new workflows for intensive care and circulatory support settings, where time-critical cardiac imaging can directly inform patient management.
