In a successful week for the medical technology companies in the LSI Alumni community, we saw LSI Alumni appoint new executives, achieve regulatory approvals, receive new funding, receive awards, and much more on the road to LSI Europe ‘26 in Barcelona (September 28 - October 1).
Granted a U.S. patent for CORA, its approach to bringing together ECG, dual PPG, respiration, and clinical data and analyzing them as one picture rather than as isolated signals. The patent strengthens the technology foundation we have been building for years and adds another layer of protection around the platform as the company moves toward clinical validation and commercialization.
Raised $10M in financing led by BE Health Ventures, with participation from TaYa Venture Capital, Da-Ying Management Consulting, and other investors. The funding will support clinical translation of its core technology platform, process scale-up, regulatory validation, U.S. market expansion, and continued growth of its U.S.-based team.
Appointed Tony Kingsley as President and CEO, bringing extensive leadership experience and a track record of building and advancing innovative healthcare companies. Current President and CEO Dan Levangie will transition to Chairman of the Board, continuing to provide strategic guidance and support during the company’s next phase of growth.
Received regulatory approval from Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare for its DynamX® Sirolimus Eluting Coronary Bioadaptor System. The approval establishes the bioadaptor as a new medical device category in Japan, highlighting MHLW and PMDA’s leadership in adopting the latest clinical innovations to advance cardiovascular treatment in Japan.
Expanded the labeled use of its Endolumik Gastrointestinal Calibration Tube to include lower gastrointestinal tract surgical procedures, including colorectal surgery. The Endolumik device, previously used in gastric and foregut procedures, is designed to provide fluorescence-guided visualization while supporting multiple intraoperative applications, including suction, irrigation, insufflation, leak testing, visualization of tube position, and sizing.
LSI Alumni Maria Sainz was named the recipient of the 2026 Ferolyn Powell Leadership Award, which honors medtech leaders who embody the spirit of the late innovator and mentor. Sainz has spent more than three decades in healthcare technology, including nearly 20 years as CEO of publicly traded and privately held companies.
Achieved ISO/IEC 27001:2022 and ISO/IEC 27701:2019 certifications for information security and privacy information management. The certifications support HYPERSNAP®'s approach to securely governing intraoperative data used to power its hyperspectral imaging and AI-driven analytics for surgeons.
Named Daniel Finney as Vice President of Research & Development and appointed to the company’s executive leadership team. Finney has more than 20 years of experience in Class III medical device development, engineering management, and project management.
Closed an AU$6M oversubscribed seed first tranche at double its target, funded largely by practicing cardiologists investing their own money. The company will use the capital primarily to advance Electro, its dry-electrode wearable ECG, and the first product being commercialized from the company’s broader cardiac-diagnostics platform.
Welcomed three new members to the team, including Chris Edwards as COO, Cassie Sixt as VP, Customer Success, and Mark Isham as VP, Engineering. The company’s market intelligence platform is designed to help medtech sales and marketing teams identify priority opportunities, optimize territories, and build relationships with physicians.
Welcomed Siraaj Dhru as its VP of Product Development. Dhru brings a unique blend of medtech product development experience, business leadership, and healthcare innovation, including experience spanning product strategy, commercialization, and execution.
Awarded nearly £378K by Innovate UK as part of the Biomedical Catalyst. This funding supports an 18-month collaboration with University College London Hospitals (UCLH) to develop a first-of-its-kind “co-pilot” designed to help neurosurgeons navigate and maintain orientation during robotic procedures.
Received FDA 510(k) clearance for the Peerbridge Cor MDx, the next generation of its ambulatory ECG wearable. Cor MDx records continuous, multi-channel ECG for up to 14 days for review by clinicians, and it is the foundation on which the company is building its cardiac intelligence platform.
Granted FDA De Novo authorization for its Queen of Hearts™. The AI-powered model is designed to identify ECG findings suggestive of urgent acute coronary syndrome, which can include ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) and STEMI equivalents, and to urgently notify clinicians of suspected cases.
Announced a collaboration with Medtronic to integrate the Sonus Patch™, an AI-powered wearable ultrasound platform, with technology from Medtronic’s Acute Care & Monitoring operating unit. The collaboration will evaluate an integrated, non-invasive monitoring system in field studies in Kenya to provide cardiac and hemodynamic data for screening and triage of pregnant women at risk of early-onset preeclampsia.
Closed an oversubscribed $14.5M financing round led by Galaxy Sirius Partners, with participation from Johnson & Johnson Innovation - JJDC, Gideon Strategic Partners, Mesa Verde Venture Partners, YK Bioventures, and other investors. The funding will support its lead surgical reconstruction program through potential FDA clearance and commercialization, while advancing clinical evaluation of its MAP™ technology in additional applications including aesthetic dermatology.
