In a successful week for the medical technology companies in the LSI Alumni community, we saw LSI Alumni achieve regulatory approvals, receive new funding, appoint new executives, and much more on the road to LSI Europe ‘26 in Barcelona (September 28 - October 1).
Successfully treated the first patient with its next-generation vCLAS Ultra Ultra-Low Temperature Ablation (“ULTA”) system under Expanded Access authorization from the FDA. The vCLAS Ultra system represents the next generation of Adagio's proprietary ULTA technology, designed to deliver single-freeze ablations at approximately -170°C, with preclinical data demonstrating a potential 50-75% reduction in ablation time and procedures up to 30 minutes shorter than the first-generation system.
Appointed Robert Haggerty as President and CEO. Haggerty brings more than 35 years of medical device leadership, including more than 30 years in gastroenterology, spanning senior sales, marketing, and business development roles at Boston Scientific, Covidien (now Medtronic), BÂRRX Medical, Gyrus/ACMI, Pentax Medical, and Procter & Gamble.
Secured a structured financing facility of up to €30M from Claret Capital Partners. Together with the €20M of equity financing supported by Truffle Capital and Edwards Lifesciences, this provides the company with greater financial strength to accelerate commercialization, industrialization, and market access across its portfolio and a runway for future success in 2027.
Received FDA Breakthrough Device Designation for its autonomous cardiac echo robot. The FDA recognition reflects the potential of the technology to expand access to autonomous cardiac imaging in U.S. healthcare, particularly in rural areas and states with sonographer shortages.
Received CE Mark approval for its latest 8 mm video endoscope, integrating 3D imaging, 4K resolution, and fluorescence capability within an 8 mm endoscope. The approval expands the company’s advanced imaging portfolio and reinforces the company's commitment to advancing technologies that support the next generation of minimally invasive surgery.
Officially listed on the NSE India following its IPO. The company specializes in tiny, complex parts with tight tolerances using metal injection moulding (MIM), where fine metal powder is mixed with a binder, injected into a mould, then heated until the binder burns away and the metal fuses into a dense, finished part.
Began the commercial launch of its CloudHRV® platform. The CloudHRV System measures the function of the ANS, the body's fight-or-flight (sympathetic) and rest/recovery (parasympathetic) activity, and delivers objective point-of-care data to physicians in the exam room.
Completed its €4.4M funding round, co-led by ZEISS Ventures and M2care, with participation from Innovestor, Metsola Ventures, and other existing shareholders, and now complemented by non-dilutive R&D funding from Business Finland. The funding enables the company to advance its temperature-controlled, non-damaging retinal laser therapy into clinical studies.
Closed a $4M Series B, led by GenHenn Capital, with participation from Life Sciences Greenhouse Investments, Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, Broad Street Angels, and former Los Angeles Dodgers player Andre Ethier, together with additional existing and new investors. The financing will support the company’s controlled alpha launch, continued generation of clinical evidence, and development of the commercial infrastructure required to bring its fracture fixation platform to a broader range of surgeons and patients.
Accepted into the FDA TAP program for its ATLAS platform. This provides the company with an ongoing line of engagement with the FDA as the company advances ATLAS towards its pivotal trial and regulatory submission.
Appointed LSI Alumni Jennifer Ernst as CEO. Ernst is an experienced CEO and strategist who has built and commercialized deep technology in regulated markets.
Secured $6M in new funding from new and existing investors, including Blackbird, Neotribe Ventures, TEN13, Bioshore, TreeArc Investment Group, Startmate, Horizon, and Alumni Ventures. The funding will support the company’s path to FDA 510(k) submission, manufacturing scale-up, and U.S. commercialization of VxWave, its robotic tomographic ultrasound platform.
