uh uh invasive BCI like for example neural link uh technology padramic synchrome you know all of them uh it's really important that they should stay with the patient for a very long time period and uh in order to make this possible it's crucial that those devices uh should be safe of course should be stable over time should guarantee the performances over years of of work of implantation and it should be as accurate as possible because accuracy means uh high effectiveness of of our And in terms of accuracy, one of the crucial point is that we need to remember that brain is a very complex organ that is composed from millions of cells highly packed all together. And in order to guarantee a very high accuracy, what we know is that we need the neural interfaces with a lot of channel let's say a lot of electrons because we want to sample as much as possible the information from the brain but simultaneously we also need that the resolution of those channel is as high as possible in order to have a very good picture at the high definition picture of of what is going on into into the brain. And we well know that both these features are crucial in order to guarantee high decoding performances. So high accuracy and this means in turn high effectiveness of the brain computer interfaces. And so starting from this consideration together also uh considering also the uh let's say the the limitation of the current BCI technology that uh have been proposed so far. We started let's say from scratch and uh we designed a radically and realized also a radically new uh family of device of implantable device of and in this case our technology is called signups signups devices or signaps technology allows us to realize uh active what we call active devices that are seamos bay devices. So uh in this case what we have done and this is the radical novelty that we brought to the field is to integrate all the technology that before was outside the neuro interface directly into the neuro interface itself. And this allows us to realize a micrometric size device uh that the device that you are seeing for example is is smaller than a human hair just few hundred microns in in width and thickness. uh composed by uh hundreds of highly packed uh independent channels in this case up to thousand channels on this little needle here whose information can be sent out through very minimal amount of wires and this is the powerful of this technology and just to give you a flavor of what means in in practical I want to show you a very brief example of let's say what you could do in the past with the passenger interface in which you have for each penetrating electro each penetrating thread you have one single electro there. So this is the kind of information that you can get out of the The current [clears throat] uh neural interface like uh for example in the case of of neurolink where you have uh single thread uh with 16 up to 16 different electrodes. And so here you can appreciate the dynamics of the brain are uh definitely more complex than what we could see before. But only with our technology and those are real data. So this is not just fiction. uh you can really understand the complexity the dynamics that occur into the brain and hence this means that with rich this rich richness of data you can really be accurate and helpful for patient impactful on patients and but as I told you before accuracy is not the only point that we should take into account but also long-term stability is a crucial point and in order to validate our technology what we have done is that we tested on different animal models for a very long time implantation. Both the performances in terms of let's say coupling and and number of units that we can record from the neuro interface and also like you can appreciate in this picture here the tissue response that is let's say comparable with ultraflexible devices that we know are the state-of-the-art in terms of tissue response in regards of neural uh let's say collectively all these results uh allowed us to validate fully validate our technology on on animal models and now we are ready uh also thanks to the collaboration with the two very important hospital two European hospital to move forward and evaluate our the feasibility and the safety of our devices into uh first in human studies of course this is just let's say the very first uh step that we want to do towards clinical application and we will do this hopefully during the next years but of course our vision go much further. So what we want to do after the first human trials is to build up the first what we call ultra high density BCI that should be uh capable to massively record information from the brains through tens of thousands of simultaneously recording channel and this thanks to our patented technology. But one very important point that I would like to stress uh on this slide here is that of course uh from this stage here now you can collect thousands and thousands of information coming from the brain but still uh we are let's say the current technology does not allow to uh transfer this information out of the brain and this is why we have another very important patent that is this ultra wideband wireless transmission that will allow us to overcome the current limitation of Bluetooth or the most standard uh technology used for transferring the data outside of the In order to do this, what we are currently doing, we are looking for an 8 million investment to realize in the next two years or better to complete over the next two years the first in human data collection and of course also the realization and the testing of our uh high um high density machine learning based decoding algorithm for motor and speech decoding. But this is just a little one part of the story. The other part of the business plan is related to the expansion of the company in your house. Uh obtaining the FDA breakthrough device destination and of course define all the reimbursement strategy and the business strategy that we need to adopt in order to expand the company as much as possible.
